prayer
Some thoughts and prayers.
We give thanks for the successful completion of the Spectrum Conference on the theme of "Re-Telling the Stories of Jesus" We particularly give thanks for the two speakers, Trevor Dennis and Neil Richardson who both had their unique outlook on the theme. Particular thanks needs to be given to Trevor for his re-told stories which had humour and insight while Neil added great depth to the whole set of Gospels. We pray that readers will be able to make use of the stories which will appear on the "Reflection" pages.
We pray for the Christians of Asia who ten dto be in the minority in their individual countries. In Singapore, Cjhristians make up 18% of the population whereas in Malaysia they are a much smaller group. We pray also for the Mission Partners, David and Rhoda Burfield as they serve in Malaysia, giving thanks for their work.
We pray for the World Mission Conference at Swanwick in Derbyshire whish is hosted by Methodists for World Mission in conjunction with Christians Aware, Christian Aid, Grassroots, USPG and SOCMS. We pray for the speakers, the organisers and for the delegates as they assemble at the end of this week. We pray that all the travel arrangements for those coming from overseas will be made possible as well as safe travel for all.
